Sponsor Support Makes 2019 an Impactful Year
Updated: Dec 18, 2019

With the support of its donors and sponsors, CDF is closing out 2019 having grown its partnerships, outreach and impact. As of December 15, CDF received contributions totaling over $500,000 from 535 donors. The average donation to the foundation was nearly $700.
Contributions from cooperatives and cooperators continue to support CDFs mission to improve economic opportunities for everyone by promoting and developing cooperatives.
Highlights from 2019 include:
Over $100,000 donated to co-ops and cooperators in the Bahamas and Uganda. National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) and National Co+op Grocers provided substantial support to these efforts.
21 young cooperators received scholarships to attend the Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Institute. Significant support from CUNA Mutual and Nationwide made this program a reality.
41 Homecare workers attended the 4th Annual National Home Care Cooperative Conference on scholarship. CFC again hosted the conference this year, welcoming 105 attendees to their Dulles, VA headquarters. The event would not be possible without the support of CFC, CoBank, Capital Impact Partners and NCB.
With record-breaking registration, the 2019 Co-op 5k continues to serve as the Cooperative Month event that brings together cooperators from across the Washington region. For decades, National Cooperative Bank has been the driving force in attracting sponsors and runners to this event. Their support is greatly appreciated.
CoBank, Nationwide Foundation, and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association provided significant support to CDF through donations that enhance the organization’s operating income.
“At the end of the year, it is humbling to look back at all the people and organizations that supported CDF and our cooperative development mission. Every donation is important and CDF is serious about ensuring that every dollar is spent to improve our impact,” said Leslie Mead, CDF executive director.
