Second round of Disaster Recovery Fund grants awarded
Donations to the Cooperative Development Foundation’s Disaster Recovery Fund are being put to work to help cooperatives and their employees weather the impact of COVID-19. With the support of the cooperative community, CDF is able to dispense a second round of resources to respond to the needs of cooperatives during a time of economic shock.
Grants were awarded to 6 cooperatives to pay rent and utilities, purchase personal protective (PPE) equipment and provide financial assistance to employees. The following organizations received grants:
Auspicious Creative Cooperative, Seattle, WA
Bright Learning Stars LLC, Brooklyn, NY
Brightly Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY
Heart is Home Cooperative Care, Albuquerque, NM
QTNY Stone & Tile, Brooklyn, NY
The Lei Company Cooperative, Oakland, CA
“We are using the grant to purchase much needed PPE and provide financial support to all the caregivers that lost hours during the past two months. CDF has given the boost Heart is Home Cooperative Care needed to help navigate through these uncharted times,” said Sabrina Smith, Administrator, Heart is Home Cooperative Care.
