Conference focuses on skills needed for home care co-op success
The Annual National Home Care Cooperative Conference is one of the highlights of the year for those that believe worker-ownership offers better jobs for care givers and better care for clients. The 5th Annual Conference will be held online from February 22 to 26 from 12:00 to 2:30 Eastern.
Registration is free for home care workers and administrators from cooperatives and organizing groups. A donation of $25 is suggested for all others.
The program will focus on the skills needed to run and govern a successful cooperative and home care business. The February 22 pre-conference on cooperative governance and basic finance is designed for new board members, start-up cooperatives and cooperators needing a refresher. The conference, which runs from February 23 to 26, will feature speakers from within and outside the cooperative sector and include time for group discussions.
The conference is an opportunity to remind member-owners that they are part of a strong and growing network of cooperatives that focuses on empowerment and well-being of caregivers and clients. In addition to outstanding cooperative and industry content, the conference continues the tradition of providing a forum for home care cooperators to connect with one another. Attending cooperatives are encouraged to submit a 3 to 5-minute video about their business.
More information about the conference and content from past conferences are posted on the National Home Care Initiative website. Contact Kirstie Boyette at kboyette@ncba.coop for additional information.
