Cooperative Education Fund grants include financial literacy for Spanish speaking worker-owners

Colmenar Cooperative Consulting LLC, a bilingual (Spanish/English) worker cooperative that offers education and resources for the sustainable development of worker cooperatives, is one of fifteen grant recipients of the Cooperative Education Fund. The CDF Board approved over $70,000 in grants from the Fund on December 10.

Colmenar Cooperative Consulting will use the grant to create a guide to improve the financial literacy of Spanish speaking worker owners to enhance the transparency and financial health of their businesses. This guide will include topics such as business plans, finances in LLC cooperatives, and financial reports.

About the Cooperative Education Fund The Cooperative Education Fund supports cooperative research, sponsors cooperative education events and develops cooperative education materials and programs. The Fund provides $90,000-$100,000 in grants, scholarships, and sponsorships annually.
