CDF Issues Forum Highlights Co-op Public Policy Initiatives

Updated: Mar 5, 2020

The findings of a yearlong research effort to identify opportunities and barriers to cooperative development are the topic of the 2020 Cooperative Issues Forum on May 6 from 1:30 – 5:00 pm at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.

Brett Theodos and Leiha Edmunds of the Urban Institute will outline a public policy agenda for cooperatives based on input from nine regional cooperative roundtables and many key informant interviews. Their presentation will be amplified by a panel of cooperative thought leaders.

Following the public policy discussion, NCBA CLUSA president and CEO Doug O'Brien will moderate a lively discussion with the 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees, Ben Burkett, State Coordinator, Mississippi Association of Cooperatives; Everett Dobrinski, former Board Chair, CoBank; Carmen Huertas-Noble, Professor, City University of New York School of Law; Michael Mercer, Former CEO, Georgia Credit Union Affiliates.
