Nationwide Foundation Awards CDF $60,000 Grant
WASHINGTON, DC (March 25, 2019) - The Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF) was awarded a $60,000 grant from the Nationwide Foundation, a private foundation supported by donations from Nationwide Companies. This generous grant will be used to support CDF's work to improve economic opportunity in the United States by promoting and developing cooperatives.
"CDF appreciates the Nationwide Foundation’s longstanding support of cooperative development and education" said Leslie Mead, executive director of CDF, "Cooperatives and mutuals contribute to the health and vitality of communities, particularly in rural areas. With this grant from Nationwide, we can continue to build capacity and improve social and economic wellbeing through cooperative development."
CDF will use the grant for general operations including supporting fund and grant administration coordination, the Cooperative Hall of Fame, and communications and social media outreach.The Nationwide Foundation grant will also be utilized to support NCBA CLUSA's 2019 Cooperative IMPACT Conference, to be held in Arlington, VA on October 4-6, as well as the Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Institute, a networking and learning opportunity for emerging cooperative leaders held in conjunction with IMPACT Conference.
Since 2000, the Nationwide Foundation has contributed more than $430 million to non-profit organizations across the country that work to meet crucial needs in communities with significant presence of Nationwide associates.
