Survey paves way for DEI Learning Cohort
The Trends in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Cooperative Community Survey concluded on April 15 with 118 responses representing 32 percent of the survey sample group. In addition to yielding important information on ongoing DEI efforts of cooperatives, the responses show a high degree of interest in a DEI Learning Cohort with nearly half of the respondents indicating Very Interested or Extremely Interested in participating in the group.
The Learning Cohort offers an opportunity for a cross sector group of co-operators to develop a new framework for leading organizations in the DEI process and community power building through study, writing and peer input. Additional information about the Cohort will be available in May.
The survey was the first step in a two-year project to bring together cooperatives from all sectors to highlight and strengthen their role in building healthy, sustainable, and equitable workplaces and communities. CDF, NCBA CLUSA, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives are partnering on the survey.
