Judy Ziewacz, Interim Executive Director
Judy has 37 years of experience working in public policy in Wisconsin and Washington, DC on issues ranging from agriculture to senior cooperative housing. She has served as Chief of Staff to a U.S. Congressman; Deputy Secretary in a Governor’s Cabinet; and Executive Director of the national Cooperative Development Foundation. She has lobbied on behalf of cooperatives of all types in Wisconsin; and, at the national level for the nation’s dairy cooperatives. As head of the National Rural Cooperative Development Cooperative Task Force, she secured authorization and appropriations to create a national network of Centers for Rural Cooperative Development. She recently retired as the head of the nation’s first Office of Energy Independence and is working with a number of projects to foster new cooperatives.
Ellen Quinn, Grants and Funds Manager
Ellen Quinn taught English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zaire, now again the Congo. In Washington she worked for the National Geographic Society, trade associations, and the SUSTAIN project housed at the National Cooperative Business Association, before joining CDF in 1996.
Cassie is a graduate from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in American Studies and a concentration in Media Studies. She has been working in the events industry for over 12 years, and has recently entered the fundraising and non-profit sector.
