The following organizations have received MSC Fund grants from the Cooperative Development Foundation to develop co-op projects that aim to enhance the quality of housing for seniors.

ROC USA, LLC - Concord, NH
- A $50,000 grant was awarded for technical assistance to find and convert at least five manufactured housing parks with at least 51% seniors as residents into a cooperatively-owned community.

ROC USA, LLC - Concord, NH
- A $50,000 grant was awarded to establish a pooled fund that will be accessible to ROC USA’s 12 certified technical assistance providers as they work with rural senior communities in 37 states to convert mobile home parks to cooperatives.

Rural Community Assistance Corporation – West Sacramento, CA
- A $40,000 grant was awarded to provide education and outreach to residents of mobile home parts about co-op ownership, provide technical assistance and training to convert senior mobile home parts to co-ops, and build RCAC’s internal capacity.

NCB Capital Impact – Arlington, VA
- A $17,200 grant was awarded to support work related to The Villages program — develop affordable housing, track the process, and develop financial feasibility models, related strategies, and policy recommendations that will ensure a viable fiscal model built on mixed income membership.

New Hampshire Community Loan Fund – Concord, NH
- A $19,000 grant was awarded to support the fund’s ongoing work to create cooperative-owned communities, as well as specific support for the fund’s Leadership Development program. This program trains leaders of manufactured housing cooperative communities, many of them seniors, in the basics of cooperative governance, as well as the management of the wide array of issues confronting these resident-owned communities.
Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation – Davis, CA
- A $25,000 grant was awarded to support the foundation’s work in Yolo County, Calif. to lead a county-wide drive to educate and engage local officials, financial institutions, and current residents to convert existing mobile home parks to cooperative resident-owned communities. The initial focus will be on working with five mobile home parts, three of which are senior-only parks, that have already expressed a desire to become cooperatives.

Minnesota Association of Cooperatives Education Foundation – St. Paul
- A $2,200 grant awarded to better serve and educate an increasing number of rural senior housing co-op members through meetings, workshops, and newsletters.
Rural Community Assistance Corporation – West Sacramento, CA
- A $48,000 grant was awarded to assist three rural senior mobile home parts convert to co-op ownership through technical assistance on legal structure, organizing, finance, and management operations.
Senior Cooperative Foundation – St. Paul
- A $5,250 grant was awarded to address education issues of senior rural cooperative housing residents, staff, and developers. The education program covers legal, financial, and community issues; board of director responsibilities; transfer of responsibility; working with the management company; aging in place; and fair housing laws.

Foundation for Rural Housing, Inc. – Madison, WI
- A $20,000 grant was awarded to establish an educational and marketing plan for replication of a five-home rural cooperative housing pilot project in central Wisconsin that clusters manufactured homes on land that is cooperatively-owned. The project will provide training and technical assistance to ten communities interested in replicating the model.
Minnesota Association of Cooperatives Education Foundation – St. Paul
- A $14,2205 grant was awarded to expand the Foundation’s existing educational work in senior cooperative housing to include more outreach to residents and more programming focused on their special needs.
Senior Cooperative Foundation – St. Paul
- A $4,600 education grant was awarded for educational workshops for senior cooperative housing members, staff, and developers that address legal, financial, governance, and management issues.
