Featuring the Work of Art & Craft Co-op Members

The more than 14,000 Visitors to the Online Auction Website were able to:

• Buy wonderful art & craft made by members of art & craft co-ops from around the country and around the world.

• See photos of all auction items and their descriptions at www.cdf.coop.

• Get information about the artists/craftspeople and the co-ops of which they are members

• Bid and make payment on specific items throughout the three weeks of the auction.

• View new items, get involved in bidding “wars”, and track/update bidding until the auction closes.

What did we ask the 13 participating art and craft co-op members to do?

• If they couldn’t donate an item, we would “buy” one or more items on somewhat of a consignment basis. That means we agreed on the price they were paid for the item at the end of the three-week auction.

• We never take possession of the item(s). They sent us a photograph for the auction catalog and, when the auction closes, they sent the item directly to the winning bidder.

• We established a minimum bid that must be achieved for an item to be sold. That protects the value of their work. It also means that if bidding does not exceed that minimum bid amount, we will not allow the item to be sold in the auction and CDF will have no obligation to pay you for the item.

• If the item sells in the auction, CDF will send you a check as soon as the auction closes for the agreed upon price and the cost of shipping. You will then send the item directly to the winning bidder.

Proceeds will benefit the Cooperative Development Foundation

CDF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community, economic and social development through cooperative enterprises (www.cdf.coop ). The portion of winning bids that exceed the fair market value for items qualifies as a tax-deductible contribution to CDF.
